My favorite comics

Lanfeust de troy

The setting is medevial fantasy, very humorous and nice drawing.

Principal characters are:

  • Lanfeust, young blacksmith who gets incredible and extensive magical powers as soon he handles a sword.
  • Cixi and Cian two sisters with good bodies (troll words!).
  • Nicolède, scholar and father of the two previous virgins.
  • Hebus the Troll (Troletbus!!!!!) hilarious character with an indestructible sense of humour.
  • The baron Or-Asur, the dumb guy (although all characters seem to act like him)
  • Tanos: the ugly and evil guy!

Published by: Aux éditions soleil, already 5 volumes printed (waiting for sixth!!)

To note:: Trolls de troy tells the story of bisayleul d'hebus.

Sitation: about Trolls: those fearsome predators are sympathizing; they hunt Dragons, and have lots of recipe to cook farmers.

Les chroniques de la lune noire

Superb drawing, and some very fun settings too

It's also heroic-fantasy close to AD&D setting.

Main characters are

  • Wismerhill, young fighter than learns weapon handling, magic and even becomes full baron. His success may cost him all (see next volume).
  • Pile ou face. A quirky character; thief, profiteer and funniest above all.
  • GorgoBey: huge half-orc who learns fast, and Wismerhill learned to respect him!
  • The master of the night moon: satan's agent on earth!
  • The emperor: tries to maintain order inside kingdom...
  • and a gib subset of knights, more or less spirit rotten!

Already seven volumes available at Editions DARGAUD

Situation: about a dead future, yes.. he is evil but knows all!

Le monde de Silfeline

This strip is not really futuristic, but kinda strange, all is pastel shades real nice to look at. The scenario is not very complex, but reading those is so cool. Actually four volumes are available (I don't remember their names). It's drawed by Bruna Bellamy, Casus (french role-playing magazine) illustrator and also worker of the magazine "Virus informatique".

Gorn

Here, something incredible: the hero dies at the very beginning!

It's the story of a wraith prisonner of the land where his life still lives (but not for long) and her daugther a beautiful half-elf.

The main characters are:

  • Gorn: the wraith, previous lord who died betrayed when his land has been attacked.
  • Elliette: his beloved wife.
  • Eloïse: the kind half-elf, sad and full of resentment.
  • Dame Gorge: a appealing young fighter women, singer too (she has a strip dedicated to her)
  • The red eyes: some evils whoses eyes are red.

The drawings are attracting, but lacks fun.

Six volumes available at: Editions vent d'ouest.

The Shadow One

By the drawer of the first chronicle volumes, all is done here using airbrush.

First act is Medieval, where the heroine is burnt on a pyre for being a sorceress. Later, she comes again in the future, newly incarned (yes, it's a futurist comic!)

In this futuristic world, our heroine comes back but can't remember her past history, and she's pushed by the earth to kill her foes which incarnate themselves again

A rather gore strip with wondeful drawings.

666

A very humourous comic where humanity is attacked by demons. The drawings are classic, but very clever.

Main characters are:

  • Father Carmody: exorcist, likes strong alcohols, films (The exorcist, Don Camillo) and unamable publications (Play boy). He looks born from a nazi medical technician dream. He thinks, laughs and looks like Duke Nukem! There a part where he tells a demon he has lots of dental problems, and that he should not be worried, as he always wanted to be a dentist!
  • The group of youth: crazy scientist like Ghost-Busters that help Carmody at its beginning.
  • Lilith: the evil demoness.

Five volumes you MUST have: you'll laugh to death (its purpose, and your soul will be gone too)

Sinkha

Not really a comic, but rather an interactive story.

The 3D drawings are incredible, and story well-written

It's the story of a girl in a futuristic story that want to get a better life

Kid Paddle

A very fun comic, very simple drawings (kind of french/belgian ones) with a very well conveived effect.

It's a sets of jokies using one or two pages where a guy crazy about video games is abused by video-games programmer (rather sadistic ones).
